Special Issue on Geographic Information Visualization Research

The visualization of geographic information is the process of expressing geographic information in graphic and graphic way driven by geographical database. In geographic information system, geographic information visualization is divided from the performance of the content, including the map (graphics), multimedia and virtual reality; divided from the space dimension, including 2D visualization, 3D visualization, multidimensional dynamic visualization etc. The whole process of visualization of geographic information should include 4 processes: data organization and scheduling, static visualization, process simulation and exploratory analysis. In the construction of statistical geographic information system, the full use of GIS visualization technology will be an important development direction of statistical GIS, and has great application prospects.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring geographic information visualization research. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Visualization of geospatial data
    • GIS visualization technology
    • Visual modeling
    • Cartographic visualization
    • Visualization processes and patterns
    • Visualization of statistical data based on GIS
    • Multidimensional data visualization in GIS
    • Human computer interaction and visualization
    • Application of geographic information visualization

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Geographic Information Visualization Research” should be chosen during your submission.
