Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one's own death. Risk factors include mental disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and substance abuse.


We sincerely welcome scholar and expert with relative academic backgrounds to submit original research paper or review paper to this special issue on Suicide Research. Potential topics or areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Related factors and suicide prevention
  • Mental disorders and suicide
  • Suicide attempts and ideation
  • Suicide behavior in adolescents  
  • Disease-related pathology
  • Psychometric tests for suicide screening
  • Gender and age differences in suicide
