Special Isue on Drosophila Research

Drosophila is a genus of small flies, belonging to the family of drosophilidae, whose members are often called “fruit flies”. One species of drosophila in particular, D. melanogaster, has been a common and useful organism for studies of invertebrate animals.

Starting with Charles W. Woodworth's proposal of the use of this species as a model organism, D. melanogaster continues to be widely used for biological research in studies of genetics, developmental biology, physiology, molecular biology, microbial pathogenesis and life history evolution. The terms "fruit fly" and "Drosophila" are often used synonymously with D. melanogaster in modern biological literature. The entire genus, however contains more than 1,500 species and is very diverse in appearance, behavior, and breeding habitat.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Drosophila Research.

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission, Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the Special Issue’’ under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue-Drosophila Research” should be chosen during your submission.

According to the following timetable:
