Special Issue on Research on Seed Plants

Seed plants are called spermatophytes. The evolution of seeds by vascular plants was a very big deal. In fact, it was arguably as important as the evolution of vascular tissues. Seeds solved the problem of releasing offspring into a dry world. Once seeds evolved, vascular seed plants and their descendants diversified to fill terrestrial niches everywhere. Today, vascular seed plants dominate Earth. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in this area of research on seed plants.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore research on seed plants. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Classification of seed plants
  • Evolution of seed plants
  • Gymnosperms and angiosperms
  • Seed breeding
  • Development of seeds
  • Seed and fruit

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
