Special Issue on Urbanization and Poverty Reduction

The internationally widely used standards for measuring poverty can be divided into three categories: income standards, human development index and Multidimensional Poverty Index. Poverty reduction is the development of special areas and special objects, and its essential attribute is social governance. The widespread existence of poverty has seriously hindered the full realization and enjoyment of human rights. To alleviate and eliminate poverty is also an important part of the protection of human rights. The social changes and the achievements of civilization in the process of urbanization are intuitively displayed as the settlement of rural labor and the prosperity of economic activities. It is still a long-term struggle to accelerate economic development and promote poverty reduction.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring urbanization and poverty reduction. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Economic transformation and poverty reduction
    • Policy and governance
    • Poverty standard
    • Urban and rural integration
    • Medical security of the poverty population
    • Poverty reduction effect
    • Ecological poverty reduction
