Special Issue on Material Heat Treatments Development

Engineering properties are modified by heat treatment processes so that structural components are able withstand specified operating conditions and have desired useful life. Heat treatment is the heating and cooling of metals to change their physical and mechanical properties, without letting it change its shape. Heat treatment could be said to be a method for strengthening materials but could also be used to alter some mechanical properties such as improving formability, machining, etc. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in this area of material heat treatments development.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore material heat treatments development. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Hardening and tempering
    • Annealing and normalizing
    • Surface hardening and carburization
    • Effects of composition
    • Effects of time and temperature
    • Applications of material heat treatments

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Material Heat Treatments Development” should be selected during your submission.
