    Special Issue on Indigenous Education

Indigenous education specifically focuses on teaching indigenous knowledge, models, methods, and content within formal or non-formal educational systems. The growing recognition and use of indigenous education methods can be a response to the erosion and loss of indigenous knowledge through the processes of colonialism, globalization, and modernity. Indigenous communities are able to "reclaim and revalue their languages and traditions, and in so doing, improve the educational success of indigenous students", thus ensuring their survival as a culture.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on indigenous education. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Indigenous and formal education
    • Decolonizing indigenous education
    • Living by indigenous knowledge
    • Importance of indigenous knowledge
    • Indigenous people and sustainable development
    • Educational gap

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Indigenous Education” should be chosen during your submission.
