    Special Issue on Fungi Research

Fungi are any member of the group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as yeasts and molds, as well as the more familiar mushrooms. A characteristic that places fungi in a different kingdom from plants, bacteria, and some protists is chitin in their cell walls. Similar to animals, fungi are heterotrophs; they acquire their food by absorbing dissolved molecules, typically by secreting digestive enzymes into their environment.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on fungi research. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Characteristics, morphology and structures
    • Growth, physiology and reproduction
    • Symbiosis with plants, algae and insects
    • Fungi use in agricultural, food and pharmaceutical industry
    • Important roles in ecosystems
    • Fungal infection

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Fungi Research” should be chosen during your submission.

    According to the following timetable:

    Submission Deadline

    December 12th, 2017

    Publication Date
