Special Issue on Visual Anthropology

Visual anthropology is a branch of anthropology based on the combination of Anthropology and vision. The human visual physiology, the form and function of multimedia, and the evolution of Visual Documentary culture are all the research fields of visual anthropology. The visual forms of all cultures, such as sculpture, murals, writing, painting, film and photography, are also included in the focus of visual anthropology. The rapid development of visual anthropology also attracts more anthropologists to examine the power of this new discipline and its role in future anthropological research.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring visual anthropology. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Development and utilization of audio-visual literature
• Ethnographic imaging
• Visual expression
• Humanistic Vision
• New media and new vision
• Visual psychology
• Visual thinking
• Visual symbols

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Visual Anthropology” should be chosen during your submission.
