Special Issue on Transport Economics & Policy
Transport economics is a branch of economics that deals with the allocation of resources within the transport sector. Transport sector follows the same supply and demand theory as other industries, while it has many unique characteristics – non-storability, economies of scale and scope, indivisibilities and the extensive production of positive and negative externalities – that need careful consideration in any analysis. In recent decades, transport economics and policy has seen major advances in methodology, covering such issues as estimating cost functions, modelling of demand, examining industry ownership and structure, dealing with externalities, pricing and investment decisions and measuring economic impacts.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Transport Economics & Policy. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
