Special Issue on Computer-Aided Design
Computer-aided
design (CAD) is the use of computer systems to aid in the creation,
modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. CAD software is used to
increase the productivity of the designer, improve the quality of design,
improve communications through documentation, and to create a database for
manufacturing. CAD output is often in the form of electronic files for print,
machining, or other manufacturing operations.
In this special issue, we intend to invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles on exploring Computer-Aided Design. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Foundational theories, frameworks,
methodologies, and standards
-
Solid and heterogeneous modeling
-
Structural, material and physical modeling
-
Collaborative, conceptual and feature based
design
-
Virtual reality and prototyping methods
-
User interfaces, system interfaces and system
interoperability
-
Knowledge-intensive technologies for design
-
Design databases, knowledge repositories,
object libraries and retrieval
-
Modeling and design of multi-scale objects
and systems
-
Applications of computer-aided design
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully
before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of
their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Computer-Aided
Design” should be selected during your submission.
