Special Issue on Damage and Fracture Mechanics

Material damage is the gradual process of mechanical deterioration that ultimately results in component failure. Damage consists of the formation of microcracks or microcavities inside the materials. Damage and fracture mechanics is study of materials mechanical laws from damage to fracture process. The goal of this Special Issue is to provide a platform for scientists worldwide to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of damage and fracture mechanics.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring damage and fracture mechanics. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Engineering of fracture and damage mechanics
  • Creep damage
  • Fatigue damage
  • Brittle/elastic damage
  • Damage tolerance
  • Fracture control
  • Modeling and numerical simulation
  • Applications in engineering materials

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Damage and Fracture Mechanics” should be selected during your submission.
