Special Issue on

Addictive Behaviors, Therapy & Rehabilitation

Addictions can include, but are not limited to, drug abuse, exercise addiction, food addiction, sexual addiction, computer addiction and gambling. Classic hallmarks of addiction include impaired control over substances or behavior, preoccupation with substance or behavior, continued use despite consequences, and denial. Habits and patterns associated with addiction are typically characterized by immediate gratification (short-term reward), coupled with delayed deleterious effects (long-term costs). Addiction research and therapy generally involves interdisciplinary action so that it is possible to suggest acceptable therapeutically solutions.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring addictive behaviors, therapy & rehabilitation. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Alcohol abuse and dependence
  • Drug abuse and dependence
  • Tobacco use and dependence
  • Substance dependence
  • Therapeutic applications
  • Chronic and acute intoxication
  • Cognitive therapies of addiction recovery
  • Internet Addiction

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
