Special Issue on Congenital Disorder
Congenital
disorder is
the abnormality of structure and function of the human body arising during
development. The incidence is 2~5% in newborn. Genetic abnormalities, the
intrauterine (uterus) environment, errors of morphogenesis, infection, or a
chromosomal abnormality may cause congenital disorder. The outcome of the
disorder will depend on complex interactions between the pre-natal deficit and
the post-natal environment. Although prenatal diagnosis (screening) can be used
to detect some disorders before birth, more need to be discussed on congenital disorder.
In
this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to
submit original researches and review articles on exploring congenital
disorder. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Congenital physical
anomaly
-
Birth defects
