Special Issue on Plant Tissue Culture
Plant
tissue culture technology has been
widely used for large scale plant multiplication. Apart from their application
in research, plant tissue culture techniques have become the major way of plant
propagation, disease elimination, plant improvement and production of secondary
metabolites. Small pieces of tissue which named explants can be used to produce
hundreds and thousands of plants in a continuous process. A single explant can
be multiplied into several thousand plants in relatively short time period and
space under controlled conditions, irrespective of the season and weather. What’
more, some endangered and rare species have successfully been grown and
conserved by micropropagation. As plant
tissue culture has played quite important role in agricultural development
and productivity, it’s of great interest to researchers.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and
authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring plant
tissue culture. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Plant tissue culture technology
-
Choice of explant
-
Tissue culture medium and condition
-
Plant regeneration
-
Plant totipotency
-
Embryo culture
-
Hairy root cultures
-
Genetic transformation
-
Cases of plant tissue culture
-
Protoplast fusion
-
Haploid and polyploidy
-
Applications and prospect
-
Problems and limitation
Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an
electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper
Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript
title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Plant Tissue Culture” should be chosen during your submission.
