Profile Details

Prof. Bai mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research works in ferrous metallurgy, espeically in the field of comprehensive utilization of vanadium-titanium magnetite resources since 1982. He was promoted to lecturer, associate professor and professor in 1988, 1992 and 2004 respectively, and recruited as doctoral supervisor one year later. Prof. Bai studied metallurgical technologies in University of Toronto as a visiting scholar during Oct. 1995 to Jan. 1997. On the other hand, Prof. Bai began to particitipate both school and university administration works in 1993 by appointed successively as deputy director of the department of metalluygical engineering, director of the department of human resource and vice-president of Chongqing University. Now Prof. Bai is the vice chairman of university council, chongqing university, vice chairman of chongqing society for metals, member of advisory committee of experts, department of engineering and materials science, NSFC.
So far, Prof. Bai has trained 10 Ph.D. students and about 20 Ms.D. students, published nearly 180 research articles, about 40 of which were in the international metallurgical periodicals, applied and got approved 15 patents. In 2011, the project ‘Study and Application of Iron Ore Evaluation System in Ironmaking Process’ was awarded the first prize of science and technology progress by ministry of education.
