During four decades of his carrier in leading scientific centers of Russia, Latvia, France, and USA, he published numerous papers in fluid dynamics, magnetohydrodynamics, and mass transfer. He has made seminal contributions to the theory of surface waves, internal waves, and coherent structures. He also pioneered in development of the experimental and theoretical computation in invariant structures.


RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

(a) Development of invariant structures and the method of decomposition in invariant structures (DIS) with fluid-dynamic applications [52, 59, 65, 67, 68, 70, 71].

(b) Propagation and structure of vortical and viscous solitary waves in geophysical and magnetohydrodynamical flows [29, 31, 37, 38, 45].

(c) Boundary layer control of the three-dimensional flow past a cylinder in the electromagnetic field [40].

(d) The method of matched asymptotic expansions and the multipole expansion for three-dimensional flows past a sphere in electric and magnetic fields [3, 4, 7].

(e) Nonstationary convective mass transfer of heterogeneous systems in magnetic and electric fields with technological, biological, and medical applications [1, 9, 10].
