Dr. Emil Edipovich Lin was born 19 April 1947 in the city of Grozny of the Russian Federation. After leaving high school in the year 1964, he entered the Moscow Engineering - Physical Institute (MEPHI, Moscow). On graduating from the MEPHI in 1970 as engineer-physicist with a special subject «Chemistry of fast-proceeding processes» he got a job in the All-USSR Research Institute of Experimental Physics (VNIIEF), now the Russian Federal Nuclear Center– All-Russia Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC- VNIIEF). At the present time he is working in the Institute of Physics of Explosion, RFNC- VNIIEF. He holds a position of Principal Research Associate. In 2000 an academic degree of Doctor of Science (Physics & Mathematics) was conferred on E.E. Lin with a specialty «Chemical physics, including physics of combustion and explosion». The thesis deals with the peculiarities of impulsive loading of objects in the course of strong expansion of explosion products of solid explosives. He is an author of a lot of research papers, a participant of many scientific conferences, including the international ones. Dr. E E Lin's research interest lies in physics of atomic nucleus and subnuclear particles,electrodynamics,astrophysics and cosmology; nanoscience and nanotechnology and behaviour of materials under dynamic loading, physics of combustion and explosion.
