Engineering Technology in Medicine

Engineering Technology in Medicine is the science and practice of establishing the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Medicine encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness. Contemporary medicine applies biomedical sciences, biomedical research, genetics, and medical technology to diagnose, treat, and prevent injury and disease, typically through pharmaceuticals or surgery, but also through therapies as diverse as psychotherapy, external splints and traction, medical devices, biologics, and ionizing radiation, amongst others.


In the present book, twelve typical literatures about Engineering Technology in Medicine published on international authoritative journals were selected to introduce the worldwide newest progress, which contains reviews or original researches on treatment and prevention of disease, biomedical research, medical technology to diagnose, Tissue Engineering, etc. We hope this book can demonstrate advances in engineering technology in Medicine as well as give references to the researchers, students and other related people.
